Newfoundland Kite Surfing Summer 2010

There is still fantastic snow coverage in the Alpine areas (Tableland Mountains, Blow me Down Mountains, and Lewis Hills) but access the alpine is getting to be more and more challenging. For those looking to get in one last session of snow kiting for this winter 2010 season, be sure to check out the Tableland Mountains in Gros Morne National Park. The tableland mountains offer parking at the base of the mountain, and walking up takes 1 - 2 hours depending on your group and how much you want to sweat. One at the plateau, the snow kiting is dreamy and defiantly worth the effort. You can still ski down almost all the way to the parking lot on a ribbon of snow, but the coverage at the top is limitless.

In late spring, this is what the Tableland Mountains Plateau looks like. As a World UNESCO Site, the Tableland Mountains Plateau is a sought after Canadian snow kiting destination. The Tablelands Plateau in Gros Morne National Park is closed to snowmobile traffic, which means it us just you, your kite, and the caribou.

Snowkite Newfoundland Canada

Snow Kiting is Canada is about access. Most of us are used to seeing snowkite videos of guys flying through the air or getting launched into the sky, but for the most part, kiting is about being connected to the ground and using the kite as a tool to help you tap into the power of the wind.

With lots of snow covered, wind swept terrain here in Canada, we are blessed with some of the ski touring destinations on the planet - and there is not better way to enhance your ski and snowboard experience then with the freedom a snowkite gives you.

This video was taken a few days ago in the Lewis Hills with My Newfoundland Adventures.

We offer the best deals on snow kites in Canada, and SHIPPING IS ALWAYS FREE!

get the pure package from WWW.SNOWKITE.CA and get evertything you need to start snow kiting this winter!

The Pure is the easiest way for someone to get into snowkiting, and you can get it right here at snow kite canada

The Pure is a brand new concept by Ozone, and we like it a lot. We use the pure in our Newfoundland snow kite school at My Newfoundland Adventures.

Ozone has led snowkite innovation since the beginning in 2001, and as far as snow kites go, they have had the best designs and most advanced safety systems, which makes their kites the natural choice for us. Because Ozone specializes in Para Gliders as well, they have a natural advantage.
All snow kites are made in the same factory as the Para Gliders Ozone makes, which means the materials and craftsmanship is truly better than any other manufacturer out there.

This is our latest creation to hit the market. This is the first complete set-up like this ever offered.  Finally a cost-effective package that will allow the new kiter to learn snowkiting safely.
Pure is an easy to use, fixed bridle kite (for constant power) with a safety system to stall the kite (when needed) and a harness, all in one.
The Pure can be used in the summer with MTB boards and in a buggy or just for fun recreational flying in light winds.  It comes complete with an instructional DVD.

The Ozone Pure Package and the Ozone Imp are the best kites for beginners

If you are learning to snow kite, starting with a 3m to 4m kite is the best way to go. This gives  you a kite that is easy to fly, quick to respond, and has enough power to take you up the alpine bowl on a moderate wind day. Getting a kite that is too large is dangerous and never fun. We use the same kite that is available in the OZONE PURE IN A BOX package above in our kite school because it is durable, safe, and perfect for Canadian Snow Kiting. You can find more info on our kite school in Newfoundland Canada by visiting the My Newfoundland Adventures Website at www.mynewfoundland.ca
